---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: OXY FUDGE Categories: Candies Yield: 1 Servings 4 1/2 c Sugar 1 cn Evaporated milk; 13 oz Salt 1/2 lb Butter or margarine; not die 3 c Semisweet chocolate; pieces 2 c Nuts; chopped 1 tb Vanilla extract Recipe by: Jo Merrill This rich fudge recipe won a "My Best Recipe" award in 1973 and has been reprinted numerous times since. Combine sugar, evaporated milk and a dash of salt in large saucepan. Boil over medium heat 14 minutes, timing after mixture comes to a full boil. Stir occasionally. While syrup is cooking, place butter, chocolate pieces and dash of salt in a large mixer bowl. After syrup is cooked, pour it over the mixture in bowl and blend at low speed first, then beat at high speed for 10 minutes. Add nuts and vanilla and stir to blend. Pour fudge into greased 13 by 9 inch pan and chill until firm. Makes about 4 pounds. Los Angeles Times California Cookbook--Jo Merrill -----
