      2 tb Buttermilk
    1/4 c  Sugar
      2 tb Butter or margarine
    3/4 ts Cornstarch
    1/8 ts Baking soda
    3/4 ts Vanilla extract

  Combine buttermilk, sugar, butter, cornstarch, and baking
  soda in a small saucepan.  Bring mixture to a boil.  Cool
  slightly, and stir in vanilla extract.  Pour over cake
  while both are still warm.  Yield:  1/2 cup.
