      3 tb Butter; softened
  1 1/2 c  Sifted powdered sugar
           -divided
           -pinch of salt
      1 tb Milk
    3/4 ts Vanilla extract
 
  Combine butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt, creaming with electric mixer until
  light and fluffy.  Add remaining sugar alternately with milk, beating until
  smooth enough to spread. Add vanilla; beat well. Yield: enough for 1 dozen
  cupcakes.
