                             SUMMER SHORTCAKE

     1/4  cup           honey
   2      tablespoons   butter -- melted
  10 3/4  ounces        frozen pound cake -- thawed & cut into
                        -- 10 slices
   1 1/2  cups          frozen whipped topping -- thawed
   1      quart         fresh strawberries -- washed, hulled &
                        -- sliced
     1/2  pint          fresh blueberries -- washed

Preheat the broiler.

In a small bowl, combine the honey and butter; mix well.  Brush half of the
honey mixture over one side of each slice of cake and place coated side up on
a baking sheet.  Broil for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden.  Carefully turn
over the slices and brush the uncoated side with the remaining honey mixture.
Broil for 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through and golden.

Place on a large serving platter or individual serving plates and top each
slice evenly with the whipped topping, strawberries, and blueberries.
