* Exported from MasterCook II * Molasses Dumplings Recipe By : Heritage Cookbook Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Dumplings Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup usulphured molasses 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 1/4 cup lemon juice 2 tablespoons butter 2 cups flour 4 teaspoons baking powder 1/8 teaspoon salt whipped cream Combine the molasses, lemon rind, lemon juice, butter and 1/2 cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes. Place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and stir in enough water to make a soft dough. Spoon dough into boiling syrup and cook covered, 12 to 15 minutes or until dumplings are cooked.
