MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Tomato Lemon Rasam Categories: Indian, Soups Yield: 3 Servings 1/4 c Toor dal 3/4 ts Salt 1/2 ts Rasam powder (optional) 1 pn Asafoetida 1 ts Ghee 1 tb Lime or lemon juice; - up to 2 tb 1 pn Turmeric 1 md Tomato 1 Fresh ginger piece (1") 1/4 ts Mustard seeds 1 Handful cilantro leaves 6 c Water Cook toor dal with turmeric in about 1 cup of water. When this is cooked, add chopped tomato, salt, rasam powder, crushed ginger, asafoetida, and 1 cup water. Cook on medium heat until the spices become fragrant. Add 1 more cup water and chopped coriander leaves bring to boil and turn flame off. Season with popped mustard seeds.
