* Exported from MasterCook * Overnight Apple French Toast Recipe By : Taste of Home magazine Serving Size : 9 Preparation Time :0:40 Categories : Breakfast Apples Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 c Brown sugar 1/2 c Butter 2 tb Corn syrup 2 lg Tart apples -- peeled, sliced 3 Eggs 1 c Milk 1 ts Vanilla extract 9 sl Day old French bread (3/4") Syrup: 1 c Applesauce 10 oz Jar apple jelly 1/2 ts Cinnamon 1/8 ts Cloves In a small saucepan, cook brown sugar, butter, and syrup until thick, about 5 to 7 minutes. Pour into an ungreased 9x13" pan; arrange apples on top. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture for 1 minute; place over apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered at 350 F for 35 to 40 minutes.
