MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Beer-Battered Fish Categories: Seafood, Beer, Breads Yield: 4 servings Oil; for deep-fat frying 1 c A-P flour 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 3/4 ts Salt 1/2 ts Garlic powder 1/4 ts Paprika 1/4 ts Pepper 1 c Beer; very cold 1 lg Egg; lightly beaten 4 Cod fillets (6 oz ea) Tartar sauce & lemon wedges - (optional) In an electric skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to 375 F/190 C. In a shallow bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and seasonings. Stir in beer and egg until smooth. Dip fillets in batter; allow excess to drip off. Fry fish in hot oil in batches until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. If desired, serve with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.
