* Exported from MasterCook Mac * Spicy Sesame Noodles Recipe By : dianelm@uga.cc.uga.edu Serving Size : 2 Preparation Time :0:25 Categories : Pork Pasta Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 6 oz Spaghetti or ramen noodles 1/4 c Water 2 tb Soy sauce 2 tb Tahini 1 tb White or rice wine vinegar 1/4 ts Crushed red pepper flakes 1 tb Canola oil 1 1/2 c Mushrooms -- thickly sliced 2/3 c Red or green bell pepper -- - diced 1/2 c Celery -- thickly sliced - (optional) 1/2 c Onions -- coarsely chopped 2 tb Ginger root -- minced 2 cl Garlic -- crushed 1/4 lb Snow peas 1/4 lb Shrimp -OR- 1/4 lb Cooked chicken -- chopped -OR- 1/4 lb Cooked ham -- chopped 1 tb Toasted sesame seeds Cook the noodles. In a small bowl, mix the water, soy sauce, tahini, vinegar, and pepper flakes. Prepare mushrooms, etc. [Toast the sesame seeds while the stir-frying is going on.] In a non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. [If using raw shrimp, stir-fry till they are done; remove and drain.] Add the mushrooms, bell peppers, celery, onions, and ginger; stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add the garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add snow peas and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce starts to thicken. Stir in the shrimp/chicken/ham. In a large bowl, toss the hot pasta with the vegetables/meat sauce and toasted sesame seeds. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
