* Exported from MasterCook * Sweet-And-Sour Tongue Recipe By : Freeze With Ease copyright 1965 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beef Freezer Meals Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 c Tongue 1/2 c Brown sugar 1 tb Corn starch 1 c Tongue broth or beef stock 1/2 ts Whole cloves 1/2 Bay leaf 1 c Sour cherries (frozen or canned) - -- drained 1 tb Lemon juice 2 tb Butter Cut tongue into julienne strips. Place in baking dish. Mix together brown sugar and corn starch. Combine with tongue broth or beef stock. Add cloves and bay leaf. Cook, stirring, until thick. Add cherries, lemon juice, and butter. Bring to a boil. Pour over tongue and bake in 350 F oven for 20 minutes. Freeze. To Serve: Defrost and reheat in double boiler. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
