* Exported from MasterCook * Marinara Sauce Recipe By : Rival's Crock-Pot Slow Cooker Cuisine; 1995 Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Sauces Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 56 oz Whole tomatoes (2 cans) 1 Onion -- finely chopped 2 Carrots -- peeled and diced 1 cl Garlic -- chopped 2 tb Vegetable oil 1 1/2 ts Sugar 1 1/2 ts Salt Place tomatoes in batches in blender container; blend until smooth (or puree tomatoes through a food mill). In skillet, saute onion, carrots, and garlic in oil just until tender (do not brown). Combine all ingredients in Crock-Pot; stir well. Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 10 hours. Remove cover, stir well and cook on High for the last hour for a thicker marinara sauce. Yield: 6 cups - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
