MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Ground Beef Chilli Categories: Beef, Vegetables, Beans, Chilies, Herbs Yield: 16 servings 3 lb Ground beef 1 lg Onion; chopped 1 md Bell pepper; chopped 2 Celery ribs; chopped 32 oz Kidney beans (2 cans); - rinsed, drained 29 oz Tomato puree 16 oz Jar salsa 10 1/2 oz Condensed beef broth; - undiluted 14 1/2 oz Diced tomatoes; undrained 1/4 c Chilli spice mix 2 tb Worcestershire sauce 1 c Water; up to 2 c 2 ts Steak sauce 1 tb Dried basil 2 ts Ground cumin 1 ts Garlic powder 1 ts Salt 1 ts Coarse ground pepper 1 1/2 ts Browning sauce (optional) MMMMM---------------------OPTIONAL TOPPINGS-------------------------- Additional onion; chopped Cheese; shredded In a stockpot, cook the beef, onion, green pepper and celery over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender, breaking the beef into crumbles; drain. Stir in the beans, tomato puree, salsa, broth, tomatoes, chilli powder, Worcestershire sauce, water, steak sauce, seasonings and, if desired, browning sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until chilli reaches desired thickness. If desired, garnish individual servings with chopped onion and shredded cheese.
