MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Lucky Bean Soup Categories: Soup, Toh o/n 96 Yield: 14 Servings 1/4 c Dry yellow split peas 1/4 c Lentils 1/4 c Black beans 1/4 c Pinto beans 1/4 c Baby lima beans 1/4 c Kidney beans 1/2 c Dry green split peas 1/2 c Dry black-eyed peas 1/2 c Dry navy peas 2 qt Water 1/3 c Onion; minced 1 tb Salt 1 ts Dried thyme 1 ts Rosemary; crushed 1 ts Garlic powder 1/2 ts Celery seed 1/2 ts Dried basil 1/4 ts Red pepper flakes; crushed 2 Bay leaves 1 cn Tomatoes (28 oz); crushed Place peas, lentils, and beans in a Dutch oven; add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil; boil for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; let stand for 1 hour. Drain and discard liquid. Add 2 quarts of water and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beans are just tender. Stir in tomatoes; increase heat to medium. Cook, uncovered for 15-30 minutes. Discard bay leaves.
