MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Hearty Baked Potato Soup Categories: Potatoes, Vegetables, Dairy Yield: 10 servings 5 lb Baking potatoes; in 1/2" - cubes (about 13 cups) 1 lg Onion; chopped 1/4 c Butter 4 cl Garlic; minced 1 ts Salt 1/2 ts Pepper 34 1/2 oz (3 cans) chicken broth 1 c Shredded sharp cheddar - cheese 1 c Half & Half 3 tb Minced fresh chives MMMMM---------------------OPTIONAL TOPPINGS-------------------------- Shredded cheddar cheese Sour cream Crumbled, cooked bacon Minced chives Place first 7 ingredients in a 6-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low until potatoes are very tender, 6-8 hours. Mash potatoes slightly to break up and thicken soup. Add 1 cup cheese and the cream and chives; heat through, stirring until blended.
