---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Pineapple Dream Cake Categories: Cakes Yield: 1 Cake 1/2 c Shortening 1-1/2 c Sugar 1 ts Vanilla 2-2/3 c Flour 3 ts Baking powder 1/4 ts Salt 1 c Pineapple juice 3 Eggs 1 ts Orange flavoring 1 ts Pineapple flavoring Frosting: 1 c Sugar 1/2 c Shortening 1/2 c Margarine 1 Egg yolk 1/2 c Milk 1 ts Orange flavoring 1 ts Pineapple flavoring Cooked Pineapple: 1 c Pineapple 1/4 c Sugar 2 tb Corn starch Cream shortening, sugar, then add eggs one at a time. Beat until very light and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to creamed mixture alternately with juice. Begin with flour and end with flour. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Makes two 9" layers Frosting: Beat these ingredients at high speed with electric mixer for exactly 15 minutes. No more or no less. Now add and mix in 2/3 cup of cooked pineapple. Frost cake. Cooked Pineapple: The original instructions say to put frosting in a covered dish in the refrigerator for a month. Then add the cooked mixture. No way around my house.
