MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Nacogdoches Chocolate Cake (Texas Sheet Cake) Categories: Desserts, Texas Yield: 1 Cake MMMMM----------------------------CAKE--------------------------------- 1/2 lb Butter 1/4 lb Shortening 4 tb Cocoa 1 c Water 1 ts Vanilla 1 ts Baking soda 1/2 c Buttermilk 2 c Flour 2 c Sugar 2 Eggs MMMMM--------------------------FROSTING------------------------------- 1/2 c Butter 4 tb Cocoa 6 tb Milk 1 lb Powdered sugar 1 ts Vanilla; or to taste Mix together flour, sugar and baking soda in large bowl. Set aside. Whisk eggs in small bowl and set aside. Melt and bring to a boil all other cake ingredients. Pour melted ingredients over dry ingredients in the bowl, then add eggs. Pour into greased and floured sheet cake pan. Bake at 400°F for 12 to 20 minutes depending on the depth of your cake pan. While cake is baking, bring butter, cocoa and milk to a boil. Turn heat down to low. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, beat very very smooth. Pour onto hot cake, spread quickly and gently, let cool. You may use margarine in the cake, but not in the icing.
