* Exported from MasterCook Mac * Soft Gingerbread Recipe By : Mama's Recipe Serving Size : 9 Preparation Time :0:30 Categories : Cakes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 c Molasses 1 c Brown sugar 1 c Butter 1 c Milk 3 Eggs -- beaten separately 3 c Flour 1 ts Soda 1/2 ts Vinegar 1 tb Ginger 1/2 ts Ground cloves Grease and flour a 9" square pan. Cream butter and sugar. Dissolve soda in vinegar. Add beaten egg yolks and molasses to butter and sugar mixture. Mix ginger and cloves with flour and add alternately with milk to mixture. Add vinegar and soda mixture. Beat very well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake at 350°F until done. Notes: This recipe was classified as an "old recipe" and clipped out of a July, 1969 "Louisiana Farmer" magazine. I found it in my Mother's recipe clippings so this must be the one she used to make.
