* Exported from MasterCook * Tickled Pinks Recipe By : Betty Crocker's Merry Makings Serving Size : 48 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Cookies And Bars Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/3 c Shortening 1 c Sugar 2 Eggs 1 ts Soluble fluid rose 2 c Flour 1/4 ts Salt 1 Egg white Pink decorators' sugar Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and fluid rose until fluffy. Blend flour and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Dough will be soft; chill several hours or overnight. Heat oven to 350°F. Roll 1/3rd of dough at a time on lightly floured board to 1/8" thickness. Cut 4 to 5" circles; then cut each circle into several quarter moon shapes. Cut slits on outside edge of each piece and bend it into feather shape, pinching one end to form quill. Brush with beaten egg white; sprinkle generously with pink decorators' sugar. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Note: Be sure to use soluble fluid rose (available at drug store) for flavoring, as rose water is not strong enough for flavor. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
