* Exported from MasterCook II * Oatmeal Carmelitas Recipe By : More Than Sandwiches Serving Size : 24 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Cookies Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 ounces candy caramels, light 5 tablespoons light cream 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup oats -- quick rolled 1/2 cup pecans -- chopped 1/2 teaspoon baking soda sugar 3/4 cup margarine -- melted 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 package semisweet chocolate chips -- 6 oz size Melt caramels in cream in top of double boiler. Cool slightly. Set aside. Heat oven to 350°. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Combine flour with remaining ingredients except chocolate chips and pecans. Press 1/2 of crumbs in bottom of ungreased 11x7-inch or 9 inch square pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Spread carefully with caramel mixture.
