                        Choco Peanut Butter Dreams

   1 1/2  c             Brown sugar
   1      c             Peanut butter
     3/4  c             Margarine
     1/3  c             Water
   1                    Egg
   1      ts            Vanilla
   3      c             Oats -- uncooked
   1 1/2  c             Flour
     1/2  ts            Baking soda
   1 1/2  c             Chocolate chips
   4      ts            Shortening
     1/3  c             Peanuts -- chopped

Heat oven to 350°F. Beat sugar, peanut butter, and margarine until
fluffy. Blend in water, egg, and vanilla; add combined dry
ingredients, mixing well. Shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased
cookie sheet; flatten with glass dipped in sugar. Bake 8 to
10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.

In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and shortening, stirring
constantly until smooth. * Top each cookie with 1/2 ts chocolate;
sprinkle with nuts. Chill until set.

* Microwave instructions:

Place chocolate and shortening in a glass container; microwave at
HIGH 1 to 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute and then every
30 seconds until smooth.
