* Exported from MasterCook * Grandma Burdick's Sour Cream Cookies Recipe By : Sacramento Bee 7/2/97 Serving Size : 48 Preparation Time :0:10 Categories : Cookies Dessert Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 large eggs 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Cream sugar, eggs and shortening. Combine sour cream, baking soda and vanilla; add to creamed mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by heaping tablespoonful onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 12 minutes. For variety, add chocolate chips, raisins or nuts to the dough before baking.
