MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Apple Wine Tart Categories: Tarts Yield: 2 Tarts 2 Apples 1 1/2 c Red wine 2 Cinnamon sticks 1 Fresh ginger piece (2"); -sliced 1 Pastry recipe 2 tb Sugar Peel, quarter, and core the apples. Put them in a small saucepan with the wine and spices. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook for 30 minutes. While the apples are cooking, make your pastry and put it in your tart pans. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Strain the apples and set aside to cool for at least 10 minutes. (You can reserve the wine and spices for mulled wine.) Place four cooked apple quarters in each pastry-lined tart pan. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar over the apples in each tart. Put the tarts on a baking sheet. Bake for 35 minutes.
