MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.04 Title: Almond Puff Categories: Desserts Yield: 10 Servings 1 c Butter 1 tb Butter 2 c Flour -- sifted 2 tb Almond extract 3 Eggs 2 c Confectioner's sugar 1 c Sliced almonds Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour until mixture resembles coarse meal; add 2 tb cold water and mix with a fork until well-blended. Divide dough in half. Squeeze each roll between your hands until you form a 8 to 10" "snake". Place "snakes" on an ungreased cookie sheet and pat into 2 rectangles about 2 to 3" wide and the width of the cookie sheet. Place 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Add 1 tb almond flavoring. Stir in 1 cup flour. Add eggs, one at a time mixing until each one is mixed in well. Spread over pastry rectangles, smoothing the top. Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes. Allow to cool. Combine 1 tb butter with confectioner's sugar, 1 tb almond flavoring and enough warm water to make spreadable. Frost pastry and sprinkle with sliced almonds (lots!). Cut into slices. MMMMM
