* Exported from MasterCook * Ring-a-Ling Ringers Recipe By : Betty Crocker's Merry Makings Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 c Bisquick® baking mix 2 tb Sugar 1/2 c Milk 1/4 c Butter -- melted Prune Filling: 1/2 lb Prunes 1/4 ts Allspice 1/4 c Sugar 1 Lemon -- grated rind of 1 tb Lemon juice A shortcake brunch dessert. Heat oven to 425°F. Mix all ingredients with fork. Beat 15 strokes. Knead gently 8 to 10 times on board lightly dusted with Bisquick. Roll dough 1/2" thick. Cut out six 3" shortcakes. Dip fingers in Bisquick; press deep indentation (about 2" across) in center of each shortcake; fill with a heaping teaspoonful of Prune Filling or apricot or raspberry jam. Bake about 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve warm with shipped cream, sour cream or sweet cream. Prune Filling: Simmer prunes in water to cover for 30 minutes, or until tender. Drain.
