* Exported from MasterCook Mac * Baklawa Recipe By : Rick Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Mediteranean Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 lb Filo dough 6 c Walnuts -- chopped 2 c Butter -- rendered 1 ts Cinnamon 1/2 ts Nutmeg 1/2 c Confectioner's sugar 2 c Syrup Mix nuts, sugar, spices, and 1 tb butter. Grease a 12x17" baking sheet with butter. Place two layers of Filo dough on the sheet and brush lightly with butter. Continue this process until 1/2 lb of the dough has been layered. Spread the nut mixture evenly over the dough. Lay the rest of the dough, following the same procedure. Cut into diamond shapes with a sharp knife, and pour the rest of the melted butter on top. Bake at 275°F for 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Cool for 10 minutes, and pour the syrup over the surface. Let cool completely before serving. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
