* Exported from MasterCook * La Fonda Flan Recipe By : Ann Kelln-Humphries, Erin's Garden Antique Restorations Serving Size : 18 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Cakes, Cookies & Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 c Sugar 9 Eggs 6 c Evaporated milk 2 tb Vanilla 1/2 ts Nutmeg 1/2 ts Cinnamon 1 tb Sugar Measure sugar into a deep pan. Place over heat and stir constantly with a wooden spoon. Melt sugar until caramelized and golden brown. Remove from heat and pour into individual bowls, or a large pan, just so it coats the inside. While sugar is being prepared, beat eggs with milk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar. Pour carefully into sugar coated containers. Place flan in a large flat pan with 1" of water. Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes. When cooled, turn over onto a plate. Before serving, add fresh whipping cream for garnish if desired.
