MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Patio Pinto Beans Categories: Pork, Vegetables, Beans, Chilies, Herbs Yield: 10 Servings 1/2 lb Bacon strips; chopped 1 lg Onion; chopped 2 cl Garlic; minced 90 oz Pinto beans (6 cans); - rinsed, drained 32 oz Tomato sauce (4 cans) 8 oz Chopped green chilies - (2 cans) 1/3 c Brown sugar; packed 1 ts Chilli spice mix 3/4 ts Salt 1/2 ts Dried oregano 1/4 ts Pepper Set oven @ 350°F/175°C. In a Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Discard drippings, reserving 2 tb in pan. Add onion to drippings; cook and stir over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes or until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, green chiles, brown sugar, and seasonings. Sprinkle top with bacon. Bake, covered, 60 to 70 minutes or until heated through.
