* Exported from MasterCook * Baked Bean Creole Recipe By : Toronto Vegetarian Association Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beans Vegetarian Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 lg Onion -- chopped 1 cl Garlic -- crushed Oil -- for frying 2 Green bell peppers -- diced 3 Celery ribs -- sliced 2 tb Flour 1 Can tomatoes 1 Can tomato paste 1 pn Basil 1 pn Rosemary 2 c Cooked beans -- your choice 1/2 c Breadcrumbs Water Saute onions & garlic lightly in oil. Add pepper & celery. Fry for several minutes until tender. Stir in the flour & add tomatoes. Add tomato paste, herbs & beans. Mix in breadcrumbs. Add a little water if too dry. Spoon into oiled casserole & sprinkle breadcrumbs on top. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F. Serve with rice & salsa sauce. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
