MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Fruit Filled Winter Squash Categories: Squash Yield: 4 Servings 2 Acorn or other winter squash 4 Dried apples 4 Dried apricots 4 Dried peaches 4 Dried prunes 2 tb Honey or sugar syrup Cut squashes in half and remove lids. Simmer, cut side down, in 1" water in covered skillet until tender. Chop fruit and simmer with sweetener. Fill squash halves. Heat in 350°F oven until warmed through, about 10 minutes. Note: Fresh fruit may be used by combining 1 cup orange sections, 1 tb grated orange peel, 1/2 cup grapefruit sections, and 2 tb raisins with brown sugar in buttered squash half, cooked.
