--- 12:32UTC So, I feel like I've become a bit negative lately, and I don't want that to bleed over here. This is a good community. It doesn't need that kind of negativity. So, with that said... While working in the panopticon sucks, over the ear headphones makes it at least tolerable. I don't hear the footfalls behind me which breaks my concentration every 15 seconds, which helps. I've also learned 90% of the people who work here really like their phones. I do loops through the office, once per hour (For health, yo!), and without fail, half of the employees I pass are on their phone, with "fake work", aka "Boss mode" on their screen (A spread sheet, terminal, etc.). Yes, I know what boss mode looks like. Not sure how people get work done, but not my call, tbh. But, back to the headphones: The only drag is I cannot wear them at length, while wearing glasses. So, its contacts for me, as often as I can. Contacts are annoying to put in during my morning routine, but I'll make it work if it saves my ears from becoming sore. Wifey is feeling a little better. She was feeling fine until day before xmas, but she's finally getting over the crud. However, it might not last long as she found out last minute that she has a bunch of appointments she needs to run out for today. And, while the panopticon sucks as an office layout, I am, collecting a paycheck, and I now have an excuse to stare out the window for extended periods: Looping puppet runs, boss! --- 14:54UTC So, while Chopin works really well for background work music, some of the songs are pretty sad-sounding. --- 18:14UTC So, Chopin most of the time, Bach is good all the time. Mozart has waaay too much going on in his music to make it useful for work. Good music, don't get me wrong, but just too much.
