-- 1110 Z So, discussion of a .tilde TLD cropped up in #meta. I know creating a DNS server to host a TLD isn't all that difficult, and really boils down to people doing it, and agreeing to use it. Few days later? We now have a set of geographically dispersed .tilde DNS servers! https://tildegit.org/ubergeek/.tilde/wiki/NS-List We even have ipv4 and ipv6 servers! And, they pass Tier 2 tests for OpenNIC! So, if we want to peer with OpenNIC, the clock is ticking, as we need to run the tier 2's for 6 months before consideration. 4 zones have been registered. Our git workflow is pretty on point, but will need some cleanup, all in all for ~4 days work? I'd say we're doing pretty well! To do: * Move git repo to an organization * Add people with merge ability * Find some people willing to host their own zone records, so we can test forwarding more fully * Add infrastructure monitoring (Working on monurbox checks: https://github.com/coreyreichle/monurbox) * Add some git hooks so we can keep abreast of changes
