installed a rom on my phone with no google services, crDroid 9.11 with DeXK kernel. Really smooth and the battery life seems awesome but living with no gms can be pretty difficult sometimes. here's some problems and work-arounds: - Banking apps: Some like BBVA have no issues, it doesn't care about safetyNet/deviceIntegrity/app source Intesa san paolo only cares about the signature of the installer, so you have to install the fakeStore to have an app signed as "com.vending.android" and then install it through ADB with "pm install -i "com.android.vending"" to make it work, it doesnt care too about google certifications i think the USA ban on huawei devices really helped because now a lot of apps have to deal with the fact that not all of smartphones run with gms. - Maps: Nothing feels as smooth as Google Maps with gms, but i find Magic Earth to ben pretty simple and works well. of course for reviews and really updated info on places you'll have to rely on the web version of Gmaps. - Miscellaneus apps: i've been using a lot of apps in the browser lately (Firefox Nightly with some extensions). Instagram, Reddit, Youtube, different emails. they all work fine which is awesome because i will not overuse them but i can still access them. - Notifications: They are pretty slow sometimes, whatsapp and Telegram do work but they could take a couple of minutes or even simply don't send you the notification. It's ok, kind of better, i'll use my phone less this way. if something is really urgent people can normally call me. I'm happy so far, there are some limits but it's for a greater good, for my beliefs kinda. The same reasom that makes us use linux and this platform, it's not the easiest possibility but we want it/ like it/ believe in it. and it's also an excuse to use my phone less, so it's all good. Using also niagara launcher, very simple but effective setup. i was thinking also about starting a neocities website where to post some stuff that i like, tutorials and setups and make a website for tilde and keep it only as a blog post for personal life/my health. i'll see, weekends are always pretty hard for me, but i also had some great moments this last week. see ya!
