I  love  The  X-Files.  There  was a german website about 20 years ago
  covering all episodes and what not. It was great and I used it all the
  time.

  It's offline now.

  I've seen it coming. Six years ago, I made a full backup using wget. I
  use that backup regularly now.

  The web is volatile. If you really want to keep some information, make
  a backup. Well, unless it's Google Maps ...
