Dogmas Dictionaries Defeat

The Chinese wise man Confucius supposedly said, when asked what he would do if he were made emperor,
that his first act would be to give everything its proper name.  One ancient Chinese leader once put
a deer before his subordinates and praised the magnificent horse; all who refused to call it a horse
also were killed.  More recently, Mao Zedong's ``let a thousand flowers bloom'' reveal this practice
to be alive and hearty in China, when he tricked intellectuals into outing themselves for slaughter.

Any ideology must dismiss words to some degree, for the subversive who attack it will seek endlessly
to redefine words and pervert its goals.  That proper way to address a man who refuses to understand
language and, say, haggles on ``what the meaning of ``is'' is'' is to bludgeon him mercilessly until
he suddenly remembers what words mean and perhaps to bludgeon him until he's dead afterwards anyway.
That concept of the philosophical zombie is good to use here, because zombies are to be struck down.

Two ideologies immediately come to mind as trivially defeated by such word games: libertarianism and
feminism.  The former is a pussy's approaching to anarchism, which is the true ideology just beneath
its shell; the libertarian decries taxation as theft without understanding how all property is such,
and only what one man may defend from another is his true property.  The libertarian can be defeated
casually with an arrangement whereby government is redefined to business, taxation to rent, and what
remains is redefined similarly.  The feminist is defeated even more easily through that redefinition
of ``woman'' and nothing more; currently, feminists call upon men to defend them from men redefining
themselves as women, ironically; they'll return to destroying society if those trannies be defeated.

I've been learning Erlang recently towards the purpose of writing TCP servers which would disgust me
in any other language, as the common interfaces exposed for good performance will bend the languages
around them without great effort.  Erlang's uglier than Lisp, in how implementation details leak out
and via parts of its design which received little thought once and nevermore, but the core ideas are
identical and so I'm unperturbed by this.  Different flavours of the same ideology are close enough.
