Radio Australia has announced that it will cease its shortwave transmissions on January 31. The station, popular with SWLs, broadcasts in the 31-, 25-, 19-, and 16-meter bands. HG> This is really sad news, since Radio Australia has been an excellent HG> propagation beacon, for checking radio conditions to the Pacific area, HG> on the 9-, 12-, 15- and 18-MHz bands. HG> Personally, I have been listening to Radio Australias SW transmissions, HG> since the late 1940+ years, and enjoyed the sound of the Kooka Burra. HG> Or is it Cooka burra?
