The UNIX command shell looked like this: $ unless you logged on as SysOp, in which case it looked like this: # Of course, a UNIX command-shell wouldn't be authentic unless someone wrote a 'vi' editor to use in place of SyncEdit. Which isn't such a crazy idea, after all, since 'vi' was designed to run over a serial connection, and since there must be at least a thousand open-source implementations if 'vi' out there.
