Speed doesn't matter that much to me (speed of setting up at least). I 
understand the config (and I do understand text based config files, it just 
seemed exceedingly cumbersome to me).

No, there is no way of importing an areas.bbs file, but guess what? MOST BBS 
PACKAGES CANNOT DO THAT. IN FACT, I don't know of any that can! Appearently you 
do, but the fact that I don't and I am familiar with quite a few packages 
indicates that it is far from a common feature.
