I'm cleaning out my gmail account, preparing to move data off of gmail
and elsewhere. I've deleted over 10,000 emails, and counting!

These are all shipping confirmations, newsletters I thought I'd read
(but didn't), recipes (which I just look online for anyway) and more.

There are a lot of resume submissions from when I was looking for work,
and an interesting 2 adjacent emails from a recruiter.

Email 1: Sorry, we weren't able to place you at XYZ company. They were
looking for a different skillset (&tc.)

Email 2: Do you know anyone else who would be a good fit for this or any
of our other positions?

Also found a couple of nasty recruiter ghostings - several emails spaced
weeks apart with either a non-answer or no response.

Maybe replacing recruiters with AI isn't such a bad idea.

My wife works in HR (not recruiting) and says that if the recruiter
doesn't call to check in on Friday, you're not getting the job.

Sure enough, I thought back to all of my job offers, and the recruiter
just called to "check in" before the weekend.
