Reminds me of the Buffy Episode "Fear Me".

Gachnar, the demon in the episode -

"I am the Dark Lord of nightmares, the bringer of terror... Tremble
before me! Fear me!"

Turned out he was a few inches tall, and Buffy stepped on him.
