So the story goes, at least that was the scuttlebut back in the day. Not sure if it was actually true, but it sounds reasonable. I notched them and used them anyway. I will say I had a few with bad sectors, but they never damaged my drive due to spinning the opposite way when inserted upside down (which was also said at the time). Have a great day! ....
