Not exactly. mac OS has had transparency for years too - I would dare say
before linux, as I remember it with Mac OS X, prior to Linux using
compositors (remembering fake terminal transparency on linux was all the
rage ;)

Liquid Glass is more the overall style I'd say, which uses transparency
heavily.
