Though, I suppose it wouldn't matter what the format is as long as when you repack the base the numbers stay the same. Do message bases often fill up to over 64k messages? I see fsx_gen on agency is over 98k now, but for some reason I think there are a lot of dupes in it (I seem to remember Paul saying something about that?) Probably the best solution would be to just archive the base when it gets that big, (or delete it). You could just rename the .sq? files and set them up as a read only base then you could still read the old messages, but new ones would go into a fresh base. I'm honestly not really worried about it - by the time you reach 64k messages in a base we will be on to new BBS iteration 3 or 4 I'm sure...
