I haven't bought one of them, I agree running on real hardware is more fun but the prices they are going for these days is pitiful! Even the FPGA ones are pitiful, I was going to buy a Standalone Vampyre, and it was like $5 or $600, which to run a BBS is just not worth it to me when I picked up a i5 off lease on eBay for $30 shipped and ran WinUAE with it for the longest time emulating a A4000, I even have a PowerPC setup ready if I wanted to run that.. I do have a couple of C64's and the FPGA Ultimate 64 which although not cheap allowed me to get back into programming again..
