I would imagine you can probably just backup your current BBS, install A48 in a temporary directory, copy over the executables, and run 'mplc -all'. However, you may want to take a look at whatsnew.txt between A48 and the latest alpha to make sure data structures haven't been changed during that time. If so, you may want to try to install A48, and then just try to copy over your 'menu' and 'text' directories, along with your theme(s) directories.. Then, if you make a backup, you can try to copy over things like your user list, oneliners.dat, and any other things you might want to keep and if anything breaks or acts funny, you can revert to the previous copy. With all that said, I don't think I've ever had issues with A49 and events. So if you'd like to try to tackle actually fixing it rather than trying to downgrade, I can try to help you out with that. Could be something as simple as how you're running Mystic and if you're passing off to a user successfully after starting, which then brings permissions into play. You can chown your entire Mystic directory all day but if you're starting MIS as root and not passing it off to said user, there's going to be issues. Regards, Nick ....
