I'll assume you are running Linux.  That seems pretty straight forward.  The
newest version of MRC doesn't require the server and port number.  You have
to run the client so that the mps script can connect to the server.  Run that
command in the background.  If you are running Windows, you will have to edit
mrc_client.py to change \ to a ^ as well.
