Onme thing I've found is that if you're setting a static IP, the default
gateway needs to be the _link local_ address of your IPv6 router, if you're on
a LAN.  By router, I mean either dedicated box (like I'm using) or a host
acting as a router (e.g Linux based tunnel router).

Linux has so many different desktops that it's hard to know.

I do often cheat - SSH via PuTTY from a Windows desktop does allow for easy
copy and paste. :)
