Oh cool, that's the same version I'm running, I'm even on an M2 Macbook also.  Have you built DOSBox-X from source?  Really what I'm asking is, would you prefer to apply patches and build DOSBox-X yourself, or should I send you my compiled DOSBox-X and you can try it out.

The line noise is a new problem to me, I haven't encountered that before.  I don't think it's related to the telnet protocol, it looks like data corruption or dropped bytes causing the ANSI sequences to not be interepreted correctly.

Thanks for the screenshot, it's an issue I haven't run into myself yet, but I think it should be solvable as DOSBox-X is working great on my M2 Macbook.

I also don't remember specifics of the Telix scripting, I think that entering the password in the dialing directory probably makes it available to whatever login script we select for the BBS.  I haven't tried a Telix login script in 30 years though so don't listen to me for any useful information. :)

I think we can solve these issues.  The slower connection may require another patch to DOSBox-X but I think I have an idea how it would work and it would be an interesting feature to add.

Another option - DOSBox Staging can also be patched to fix uploads over telnet (by properly escaping the telnet IAC byte).  It's a very small fix.

Yeah copy and paste is definitely a huge feature to have. :)

I've been playing a lot in DOSBox (mostly DOSBox-X but checking other versions here and there) and am more than willing to help get things running optimally, if you're willing to spend some time troubleshooting and testing some patches. I've been kinda waiting for someone to come along and run into some of the same issues I had, to find the best way to fix it and to test it well.
