Since we're talking UPSes, I think I have a APC Smart-UPS 1000VA ..or atleast it looks like the one on the APC site. I found it stashed in a corner of the unit that I now use for my shop. All it needed was a new battery for operation. That was over 8 years ago now. It can provide close to 2 hours for the DSL modem, switch, debit/credit card terminal and the cash register. Since the batt is pretty old, maybe I should time it unplugged. I expected it to operate longer than it did in the recent storm we had here that knocked everything out for 24 hours. I also have a APC Smart 750 for my main shop pc. It was in Hibernate and scheduled to bootup at 6:30a. It didn't. The only other thing plugged into the same battery was the monitor. I have a habit of leaving it on. That was probably enough to drain it after a few hours, I guess.
