If you got this far then the above is well within reach. I did succeed. I have a nice xfce desktop running now. GF119 [GeForce GT 610] Kernel driver in use: nouveau I usually run the nvidia drivers but I inslalled Quake along with quakespasm yesterday and it runs nicely with the nouveau driver. I'll keep the nvidia drivers handy but so far I don't need them. > Still no love on legacy boots which is the case for the node. No big deal > but like you previously said that it would be nice to see them working. When I ran the nvidia drivers I never saw any penguins, I'm not sure why. I prefer the nouveau driver because I can add video=640x480 (or other modes I suppose) and I get a 80x30 terminal screen, just the way I like it. When running the nvidia driver I get an 80x25 screen and I can't seem to change it anymore. In the past I used vga=???? and was able to get other screen dimentions but that doesn't seem to work anymore. > For the record, I am still getting the proper framebuffer loading but no boot > penguins other than when I use uefi which as of this writing isn't really > working on a couple of machines for whatever reason. Does it matter? The penguins don't matter much as long as the machine boots but it's curious whatever happened to them. I'm almost certain if I use the nvidia drivers I won't see them anymore. --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-6 * Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (1:153/757) .
