Yeah, in fact I think somewhere in the Fidonet documentation they state that there's never been a reason/desire to have a netmail database of addresses. If you want to contact someone at a BBS they can give you an netmail address where they can be reached, and if you want to contact a system operator of a BBS you can usually address sysop@1:218/600, Synchronet will drop sysop emails to my box as do most BBSs. Here's a great webpage, you can enter the name of a Sysop and it'll list every node under that name.
